Partnership Disputes

We help partners devise a plan to minimise the financial and emotional impact of any partnership dispute.

We help partners devise a plan to minimise the financial and emotional impact of any partnership dispute.

Partnership Disputes solicitors in London and Essex

Partnership disputes are governed by the partnership agreement in place between the parties, if there is one. Where a partnership agreement does not exist, the Partnership Act 1890 (the Act) will apply. The Act is outdated and incompatible in light of today’s business, which makes partnership disputes more complicated.

We work with partnership businesses in a variety of sectors. We understand that partners who become involved in a dispute want to receive clear, practical and commercially-minded legal advice in order to try to determine the steps to a satisfactory resolution. Our deep understanding of partnership law and the legal nuances that commonly arise mean that our representation can put you at a legal advantage – whether legally or tactically.

Our expertise in partnership disputes includes:

  • Determining in legal terms whether a partnership exists
  • Advising on the rights and obligations of partners
  • Advising on the interpretation of partnership agreements or default rules under the Act (as applicable)
  • Advising on the suspension, removal or retirement of a partner
  • Assisting with the legal aspects of a leaving partner’s share of the business

Our approach to partnership disputes will involve us advising on the options for trying to resolve the dispute without the need to expensive, complex and stressful legal proceedings e.g. negotiation, mediation or arbitration.

However, if avoiding legal proceedings is not feasible, we will adopt a highly committed and professional approach in fighting your case and aim to achieve the best possible outcome. We will discuss your desired objectives throughout your case to make sure that you are happy with how it is progressing.

Our unique selling point is that we understand what clients want from their lawyers. We will manage your transaction proactively, with careful attention to detail while never losing sight of the bigger picture.

We offer a range of pricing options and will be happy to discuss these with you. As a client-centred law firm, we will be transparent with you about our pricing and actively manage these in line with our agreements.
